The lady came out of the shopping mall in Mumbai with tons of bags that she could hardly hold. She had shopped for Christmas from cookies to gifts and lots and lots more, still it felt so incomplete. Just then she saw the little girl in rags selling the Christmas caps. The girl's eyes looked tired with hunger. It was obvious that the girl could have her meal only when she sold all those caps. The lady realized what she needed to do, she bought all those caps at one go. The little girl's eyes sparkled with joy, a joy that only the spirit of Christmas could bring!
Christmas is a time of peace, love, and goodwill to all. Christmas, when celebrated in its true spirit is beautiful! Happy Christmas to to all!

Is it a real life story, anyway loved it
ReplyDeletewhat an interesting story and a painting filled with mystery!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting and wonderful painting! I love the interplay of all the shapes and how you've taken such traditional symbols and made them very contemporary. Truly this story is the spirit of Christmas, even Jesus would agree!!! You've captured it so well!!! It's not the 100's of gifts that may or may not be used or appreciated, but making a difference in someones life though a generous act. Thank you Padmaja for reminding me to find my own girl-with-caps this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteA perfect painting to go along with the inspiring Christmas story!
ReplyDeleteThe true spirit of Christmas is giving...this causes you to receive more than you gave...The wrapped gifts are symbolic...the true gift is love.
