The Search

On the endless beach over the hot bright sun..
Through the haunting melody of the dashing waves,
I first saw just one coming down
And then all of them, one by one.
The gulls in hundreds flashed through the air,
Their search for food went on and on!

An oil on a 20 by 22 inch canvas, done from my trip to the pebble beach, California.

    I can almost feel the water move and hear the gulls, and waves crashing. Did you write the poem when you were working on the painting? Your shades of blue are beautiful.

    This painting has amazing depth.
    Since the first time I saw the sea I knew it is live and thinking/feeling organism. I addressed the words of respect and worshiping to the waves when swimming. Your painting reminded me about my attitude to the breathing sea (or ocean, big water).

    Love the sky and the movement captured in the waves and all those seagulls. I was remined of your earlier post about stiry of seagull - Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. And I had read the book afterwards. wonderful poetry too!

    The movement in this is incredible, Padmaja! I can hear the waves crashing on the rocks! Then there are the blues; the gorgeous blues and an endless sky! Beautiful!
