"Watching over", 8 by 10 inches oil on canvas board
"Early Waves", 5 by 7 inches oil on masonite board
"The day begins", 5 by 7 inches oil on masonite board
Just in the mood for some ocean. The first two were done from my trip to the pacific coast. The last two were done closing my photo album and opening my imagination ! Hope you enjoy! Here is what the gull probably is saying :-)
Standing alone I watch
The waves eternal and infinite
I can't decide
If it is tranquility
Or chaos.

Beautifully painted, for me they can never chaos, only tranquility always.
ReplyDeletePadmaja the paintings are superb.I especially loved the 'early waves' and 'the day begins.'
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Padmaja! These are so good! EAch of them expresses a different mood and feeling. The water is full of life and movement, and the depth that you've portrayed in each one is amazing to me! Congratulations on this beautiful compilation of art! I also admire the way you did two of them from your photos, and then two from your own memories. :)
ReplyDeleteStunning pieces, Padmaja! I love each and everyone of them. You so skillfully managed moss on rocks, the water is stunning and I'm absolutely in love with the green morning light. Green is my favorite color and I find myself unable to tear my eyes away from that gorgeous green ocean view. Totally in love with it! And thank you for your always wonderful and kind words to me.
ReplyDeletePadmaja, you are so talented and I think these are all so special. Early Waves is my favorite in this group...I love those colors and the mood is relaxed and gentle. Amazing that you could do those last two from your imagination!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, Padmaja!!! You've been busy! These paintings are all breathtaking...I love the texture in all of these...Early waves is absolutely amazing!!
ReplyDeleteYou are incredibly talented, my friend!!!!!
Wow. Bravo, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHere I feel the ocean wind, it is a mix of watermelon, algae and power.
So very very well done.
What more and new can I add to the praises in the foregoing comments except that your imagination is equally admirable as the real?
ReplyDeleteThe captivating verse at the end left me speechless like the gull
You have been creative busy :) I love the all different colors of the sea and the sky with each of them telling a different story ! Lovely lovely set.
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful and beautiful. It's almost the end of summer here and I've yet to be to the beach. I was just thinking about that today when I checked your website and voila! Ocean's a plenty.
ReplyDeleteI can feel the salt of the sea and like that you did 4 very different paintings.
They all have a nice atmospheric quality. I particularly like Early Waves. Nice greens.
ReplyDeleteWow! once again you AWE me with your color schemes and texture! Beautiful moods...
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!! They are all so beautiful and full of energy of the ocean! These really are your best works yet! Sorry it took me a few days to leave a comment, I've been up to my eyeballs in flowers, making garlands and centrepieces.
ReplyDeleteLovely Padmaja!
ReplyDeleteThe moods of the ocean so beautifully captured, Padmaja:)
ReplyDeleteIt's been way too long since I visited - these are gorgeous and I especially find the green one so striking. I was recently visiting up near Avila Beach, Morro Bay, Pismo, SLO, all those areas. I love it up there. I need to do a catch up soon on all your paintings.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy enlarging and looking at the texture in the top two paintings, Padmaja. It's as though your brush willed those waves to move. Beautiful energy. That green painting takes me somewhere spiritual and reminds me there is more than just what I see, here. The last one is warm and peaceful. Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteThe texture in your work is unique. The colors in all the moods are awesome. There is so much movement in all these works. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteEarly waves is my favorite too. Appears to be a popular one. I love to see a series like this. All different but the same artists vision. Beautiful work.
