This is a 20" by 72" triptych in acrylics. I have let go of myself and used bright colors to bring in the energy that is associated with these beautiful creatures.It also helped me to camouflage my lack of knowledge about the animal's body basics :-). This will be hung in an office and the intention was to lift up the energy of the reception room. So I thought of painting running horses in wilderness (no, they are not racing!) so that the Mustang power is felt in their movement :-)I love horses and I love them to be free! As a little girl, I used to visit Mysore a small town for my annual vacation and we had to use horse carts called tongas for commuting. I used to shiver whenever the tonga guy hit the horse with his whip to speed up the animal. There was no other means of commute at that time in Mysore and it was quite an ordeal to go through the torture. For me, it was like sitting on thorns. Back in Bangalore where I lived, I could not even bring myself to look at the racecourse whenever I drove across the place.
I feel that forcing these lovely creatures to run is not humane. Let alone horse race, I dont even like rat race when people run after power and money (though I love rats after watching the movie Ratatouille!). I think that human power with in, is much greater than a horse power and the challenge of life lies in seizing the power that already exists with in us and lead a life that is meaningful to us. What do you say? :-)
