Bottled up!

This is done in acrylics on paper with a palette knife, for the June challenge by James at http://windowstothewordsart.blogspot.com/
His beautiful poem conveyed the thoughts about reflections in our life and I tried to do it with the reference photo he has provided. But my perception of what finally turned out is some what tangential. My "Bottled up" is reflecting emotions both positive and negative inside ourselves that have not been let out. Bottling up positive emotions is good for us and others around us.. where as by not letting go of negative emotions like anger, hatred, jealousy, fear that undermine our energy and our physical and emotional health,
we are damaging ourselves and also others. Anyway, emotions.. either way keeps us alive :-)

  1. nice drag layering. It is still, spacious, rendered containment.
    The primary colors are wonderful.

  6. Wow, bottled up emotions. I thought of toxic waste when I saw it. I suppose they are pretty much the same thing, aren't they?
    Great job on this subject.

  11. I like that fact that there is a line of thought behind each of your paintings. There's something more going on than just color and composition.
