The Diamonds or the Silver?

The light fell on her, lighting her lovely face..
The diamonds on her nose and ears glittered..
Or did her silver hair shine better?
I think..
More than the diamonds and the silver,
Sparkles her selfless love..
She is my mother :-)

I caught my mother in a contemplating mood with a water color pencil. From a traditional south Indian family that she is, she has been wearing a diamond nose ring and diamond earrings all her life, never seen her without them!

Happy Mother's day to all those wonderful mothers whose love nourish many lives!

  17. That reminds me of my grand mother. Always impeccably dressed... ready to rush out to help any one in need. Very nostalgic drawing :-)

I also wanted to tell you that I tried the oil paper you mentioned about. Yes, it is good for practice but having worked so much on canvas, its not easy to go back. Thanks for letting me know. Im doing a lot of paintings these days and thats the reason why I dont have time to post. And I prefer it that way. I rather paint. But will keep you posted.
    love!

  21. Don't know how I missed this but this is so special. I am so glad you shared. Her mood looks like a gentle soul but one who does not budge on her beliefs,a woman who is oh so sure of herself. I love the poetry it really defines her from the eyes of someone she loves....
