Dawn at Muscat

An acrylic painting on a 26 by 32 inches canvas. This is my impression of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat. It is the main mosque in Oman and poses a sight of serenity.

Each day, the dawn begins my day in two special ways.Since I live very near to beautiful mosques, I get to hear the dawn call to prayer even before 4 am during this month, it is kind of soothing and soul healing. The other highlight of the dawn is being able to enjoy the sun in its full glory, almost like a ball of fire since the sky is mostly clear with not many clouds.

I look forward to dawn every day, it feels like a new beginning, a hope for a better tomorrow.

  4. What a gorgeous place, and most definitely serene. I remember hearing the calls to prayer when I was in Turkey. Twice a day, right around 5-ish a.m. and p.m. I had never heard that before, but it was indeed beautiful.

  23. Hello friend - it's been so long since I've visited blogs I love. We went through a big move to Wrightwood, Ca - up in the mountains and circumstances have kept me from visiting much.

I have to say - this is my FAVORITE piece I've ever seen you do - the light - wow. Simply gorgeous.

Take care and hope all is well with you.
