Conversations

Oil on canvas 8 by 10 inches

Whenever I watch the dashing waves between rocks I feel like there is a constant conversation going on and I love this conversation! I also love to listen to birds conversing and I put the two together in this painting, there was no reference, just went along the flow.
But the best conversation that I love most is the one with God, that conversation is so comforting!
Hope you enjoy the painting!

  4. This is exquisite.I have exhausted all superlatives already on your creations!!
Whille waves conversing with each other is an artist's justifiable imagination, birds do converse meaningfully i hope but the conversation in silence of a man or woman with God is an absolute certainity.

  5. Love the colors and the texture, cool sea against warm rocks and then the slick water against rough rocks and of course the animated gulls - there is conversation everywhere! Even with so much action it feels calm :) well done !

  6. Conversation with God, is something that we keep having all the time. And I just love the book , if know what i mean.
It is true, I also wonder what the waves have to say as they come and touch our feet with tenderness.
Padmaja you are not only a good painter but also a gifted writer.

  7. One of the things I have most difficulty with is coming up with a title for my paintings. The title you came up with perfectly describes your painting. The waves dashing back and forth between the rocks, and the birds on either side calling to each other - it's perfect.

  9. It almost looks like the textures were created with stucco (or wax). Great color conversation.

  10. I want to touch this painting, Padmaja. The texture is so rich! I never thought of crashing waves as a conversation, but you are absolutely right. Thankyou for that! I will listen more carefully, now, because you have shared this. I really like the birds because they support the idea of a conversation going on.

  11. Hi Padmaja, I wonder I have been buried under the rock or what!! :)) I missed quite a few of your recent paintings, looking through them now. This one in particular is very very rich in color and texture. Great work with palette knife. Most of all you made the painting talk by adding sea gulls!!

  12. The main focal point here (for me) is not birds but the water flow, the power and movement of the waves. Amazing painting, full of energy and so recognizable adorable subject, the ocean.

  17. I love your paintings of water, but what strikes me is the way you use paint to make your painting look like a tapestry of color.

This painting really pulls me in...calls to my soul and spirit...and it feels very vibrationally alive!! The colors swirling as a sacred dance of creation! This is visually blissful and spiritually uplifting and powerful!
Hugs! A pleasure to always visit and experience your art!

  20. Padmaja, I feel the same way. I feel close to God when I'm around animals and when I'm outdoors. Lovely colors in this painting and the motion of the water makes it very exciting.

  24. Your intuitive nature comes out in your work so beautifully, Padmaja. I really love this one especially! Waves and sea and sky, and birds, it is all an ongoing conversation, and we are always a part of it. You said it so perfectly!

  25. Lovely work Padmaja. Lots of pigeons somehow reach the oil rigs I spend time on (probably with some boats) and find themselves trapped in the middle of the seas. They seem to talk to the sea gulls around. You can see the jealousy and sadness in their eyes. Your work reflects all the emotions you talk about. Fabulous.
