The quiet

Oil on 9 by 12 inches canvas board
The inspiration behind this painting is the memory of the day I visited Napa Valley, California. What I experienced through nature is still fresh in my mind. The distant hills, the trees, the vineyards and more than anything else, the golden silence that the nature offered brought down the chaos of the mind to a zero level, making me aware of the silent zone that exists within. I would love to live in that little cottage, so far from the madding crowd!

  1. What a beautiful job you did on this California scene, Padmaja. I love finding places that do for me what this scene did for you back in CA.

  8. Beautiful painting of the vineyards, Padmaja. That cottage does look inviting. What a beautiful spot to paint outdoors, also. I like the texture evident throughout this painting.

  13. I feel like I'm in Northern California. You did a fantastic job in painting the vineyards and trees. It certainly does look quiet in and peaceful there. I'd like to visit that cabin, but I don't think I could live there. I'd go stir crazy.

  14. I love vineyards - and i love your painting. Next week I'll be up near lots of vineyards, yeah! I just hope the drought here on the central coast hasn't affected too badly on the vines. Wonderful painting.
