Storm

Storm, 8 by 10 inches oil
Sometimes storms are good, for we know who we are and whom we have.. This is what I felt after I added the figures to the scape as a second thought!

  1. I always love your colors and textures! The figures definitely add mystery to the painting - I want to know what 'colorful ' question the kid is asking the adult on the beach under such beautiful skies :)

  2. Your choice of colors is just amazing. This one actually creates a storm in the viewers eyes. A great thought too.

  7. Amazing colors. But those two would better stay securely at home during any storms.

  8. Somehow, while looking at the painting, I feel that the man, as he is admiring the beauty of nature in front of him, suddenly gets a subtle wake up call, that makes him think:"But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep".(Robert Frost)
A really powerful painting with a message.

  9. Gorgeous painting. I feel like a huge storm is coming and those two better find cover. I love the sky with its feeling of the impending storm and the colors in the water. Wonderful!

  10. The colors you used in the sky are FABULOUS! The clouds appear to be moving. I agree with Hilda about adding the figures . They add not only to the feeling of space but a story too.

  12. I love the colors of this painting.I also like the figures as it adds an imaginary story to the painting. When I traveled I made the mistake of taking picture without people. I was only interested in the buildings and landscape. Now some of the photos look so empty to me. Even one figure would have given life to them.

  13. Wow Padmaja, the sky looks fierce, yet almost as if calming down at the sight of a father-son bonding - with the blues coming down on the red. Beautiful colors.

  15. Very nice color... I see that the little boy is looking up at the man walking beside him. I presume that the man is boy's father. And your painting depicts that father is always a child's first hero!
