Three is company

Three is company, oil, 8 by 6 inches
Before our son moved away from home for his higher pursuit, we three (my husband, our son and me) did a lot of road trips covering the length and breadth of India and during one such trip to Srirangam in South India, we found these three trees standing together and how instantly we related to them! The memory is fresh and every minute of the painting session was touching since I miss those golden days so much!

  5. Such beautiful harmony in this painting, dear friend. You raised your son correctly if he has gone to peruse his own path. I understand your mothers pain of loss.
Remember Kilbran beautiful words - Trees are the poems of the earth - We fell them down and turn them into paper That we may record our emptiness.

And how you related those 3 trees to your little family...
I relate it to my own family too...
From a different angle. Cz I am the only child for my parents. And we three rock!

  15. Love the title and the sentiment that accompanies this painting. I think I would have known these things from just viewing this one, Padmaja. The three trees and the golden sky pass on something about strength in numbers. No stormy sky here! Beautiful!
