Food for thought

This is an acrylic on a 20'' by 24" canvas.. from my trip to Kuala Lumpur or "KL" as it is commonly known, the focal point of new Malaysia. The city's bustling streets, its shining, modern office towers, and its cosmopolitan air project an unbounded spirit of progress. Here I have coupled a few streets of China Town together, to bring out the essence of the food business of the place.Food doesn't seem to be a necessity here but an obsession! You cant walk a few steps ahead with out smelling food! The road side stalls are omnipresent and the choice of food is endless. It is lovely to see the brisk activity with food that goes on for the whole day. I personally love food but eat just moderate!

Mahatma Gandhi said " There are people in the world so hungry, that God can not appear to them except in the form of bread" and I always keep that in mind. Do I sound like a communist? :-)

  6. Love the use of bright, vivid colors in this one. You know how sometimes a small, understated part of a painting sometimes stands out? To me it's the concrete near the bottom of the painting. I like how you brought all of those subtle colors into that area to portray reflected light.

  16. This huge number of reds disturbs me in a way. KL sounds really hot.
As for the food, it is a pleasure and a problem for me. I need to train my will on food, but fail all the time, I remember will only when everything is already eaten(. )))

  26. This is a wonderful painting! The colors really energize this painting. As for food, it seems to be an obsession everywhere in this world especially in here in the USA. The proof is the obesity rate we have now
