An Oil on 20 by 22 inches canvas, as I was trying to work on this one, I wondered how many time I made an effort to get out of my home and watched this little miracle of life called moon ! This is the song for a man who enjoyed moon for the joy of it.. but all alone!
He enjoyed looking at the moon,
Every night, day after day.
He wanted to enjoy the moon with her by his side,
She didn't care, she would rather pretend asleep.
He waited and waited for her to look at the moon,
Every night, day after day.
She never looked once!
The moon is still glowing as it was, years ago,
But he is not asking her any more, too old and tired,
The past is gone and will never come back,
The present moment is the only truth
That is to be enjoyed like the glowing moon.
Lovely painting and thoughts. The deep blues and the dark foreground give an ethereal feel to the moon. Fabulous.

ReplyDeleteOoh, I would buy this from you if I could! It's gorgeous, and I do love blue! The poem is very melancholy, but beautiful. Kind of a metaphor for so much in our lives, isn't it? I'm glad that we are the kind of people who look at the moon!

ReplyDeleteLovely painting and equally lovely poem. I can understand how that man must have felt, don't we all want to share with someone we love things/ sights that gives us pleasure?
ReplyDeleteBut, I suppose, the person should have the same enthusiasm and love for beautiful things.
I make it a point to enjoy beauty in every way, whether i have company or not.
I still regret not taking the picture of the reflection of the moon on our swimming pool, every time , I would see it and think I must capture it in my camera, but unfortunately those days I was not into shooting pictures, and I also thought the moon is always there and our swimming pool too would always be there.
However things changed we to close our swimming pool, and the moon forever reminds me, that I should never postpone things, and just do it the minute I felt like doing it.
beautiful !

i don't know how you made this --- whether those specks are really fine specks of white paint or the same paint layered to form texture --- but it sure is stellar. :)
