Conversations
Conversations, 11 by 14 inches , oil
Starting the new year with my never tiring subject, the conversations happening between the rocks is always an inspiration, only the approach to depict it is different each time. The palette knife has become an addiction, I keep telling myself to pick up my brushes, but the hand invariably goes for the knife. Wishing one and all a fabulous year ahead!

Dawn at Muscat
An acrylic painting on a 26 by 32 inches canvas. This is my impression
of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat. It is the main mosque in Oman and
poses a sight of serenity.
Each day, the dawn begins my day in two special ways.Since I live very near to beautiful mosques, I get to hear the dawn call to prayer even before 4 am during this month, it is kind of soothing and soul healing. The other highlight of the dawn is being able to enjoy the sun in its full glory, almost like a ball of fire since the sky is mostly clear with not many clouds.
I look forward to dawn every day, it feels like a new beginning, a hope for a better tomorrow.

The song of the moon
An Oil on 20 by 22 inches canvas, as I was trying to work on this one, I wondered how many time I made an effort to get out of my home and watched this little miracle of life called moon ! This is the song for a man who enjoyed moon for the joy of it.. but all alone!
He enjoyed looking at the moon,
Every night, day after day.
He wanted to enjoy the moon with her by his side,
She didn't care, she would rather pretend asleep.
He waited and waited for her to look at the moon,
Every night, day after day.
She never looked once!
The moon is still glowing as it was, years ago,
But he is not asking her any more, too old and tired,
The past is gone and will never come back,
The present moment is the only truth
That is to be enjoyed like the glowing moon.
