Conversations, 11 by 14 inches , oil
Starting the new year with my never tiring subject, the conversations happening between the rocks is always an inspiration, only the approach to depict it is different each time. The palette knife has become an addiction, I keep telling myself to pick up my brushes, but the hand invariably goes for the knife. Wishing one and all a fabulous year ahead!
It's good that the palette knife has become your new best friend. Beautiful painting!!
ReplyDeleteThese conversations are so enriching, remind me that nature is amazing source of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWу are so lucky and blessed to know the joy and happiness of painting process.
The waves crashing against the rocks, the texture of sea and stone is all beautifully painted. Your preference for palette knife is an instinct and you should always go with your feelings, it works!! Happy New Year and even happier painting. xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful texture and color!
ReplyDeleteVery nice piece of art. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your loved ones.
My sister in law loves to paint as well. She does not get much time, but whenever she paints it is fabulous.
So, if it is not a brush, but a knife, what difference does it make as long as the painting is expressing what you want it to express eh?
The texture achieved with the palette knife is wonderful, difficult to achieve with a brush . This conversation between rocks and waves is gorgeous, love the roughness of the waves that come crashing and the stillness that you perceive in the foreground , well done !
ReplyDeleteNAture is so BEautifullllllllll.. the rock is standing strong .. but the waves are saying they will try all the more harder ..
ReplyDeletebeautiful painting ...

You do not need brushes when you can use the knife so well. This is fabulous and has so much movement. You really have an affinity with the ocean and rocks. each one is a gem.

ReplyDeleteWonderful.
ReplyDeleteHope that during the passage of time in this year, you will slowly switch over to the brush.
Lovely creation, Padmaja! Best wishes for the New year!
ReplyDeleteLove the texture --so glad you are going for the palatte knife :) Your paintings make me want to try oils!
ReplyDeleteA very lively painting. The palette knife works well.
ReplyDeleteTotally in love with this...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Padmaja. I can feel the movement of the ocean against the rocks. I feel such strength in those waves. The rocks (eventually) won't have a chance. And if your knife is working for you, as it is in this painting, don't stop.

ReplyDeleteAwesome Padma
ReplyDeleteThis one actually moves, Padmaja. I have not heard the ocean or a waterfall in such a long time. I can remember, though.
