Acrylic on three canvasses total size 30 inches by 72 inches
One thing I most enjoyed during my Italy trip was the time spent in art
galleries.Especially in Sienna, I had a hard time to move away from each
gallery, probably I stood for hours! It was immense joy to watch the
artists working on their paintings, mostly on Tuscan themes. Even when
they look so similar to each other, I think each has its own character
and beauty. I had to try out one such painting myself :-) All through
the painting session there was an apprehension of overdoing, carried
away by the details, stopped when I felt it was done! My choice was
for bright colors and big shapes to tune in to the Tuscan flavor.Hope
you enjoy it :-)
This must be really majestic in person. Love the choice of colors. You are really lucky to get to see such beautiful sights. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Every line and every shadow helps to move my eye through the scene like I'm on the most enjoyable outing through Tuscany. It's very artistically and creatively done! Those colors are so rich and they flow alongside each other perfectly! I wish I could go there and see this too!
ReplyDeleteThoroughly enjoyed it.There was a sense of completeness. You are a gifted artist.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully done with the rich colors you have selected! It is wonderful that you can create such expressive paintings to commemorate your travels! I've always dreamed of visiting this area so rich in beauty and art. You are very fortunate to have been able to see it all in person.:)
ReplyDeleteOh I do think this is beautiful, Padmaja! The colors are bold and bright and the rather stylized composition is so contemporary. What a wonderful way to remember the beautiful scenery you saw in Tuscany.
ReplyDeleteI was also in love with Tuscany last spring when I visited. You captured the depth of the landscape, rolling hills and vineyards, Italian Cypress and endless horizon, beautifully. Very interesting color choices, you are so contemporary!
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful, and not like other paintings of Tuscany I've seen. The forms are familiar, but the colors are your own wonderful touch.
ReplyDeleteI really love this colorful Tuscan landscape, in real life it is already breathtaking, but painted in this way it is even better, you did an awesome job .

I just had to enlarge this and get a better look, Padmaja. The yellow sky! I love that touch that balances those shapes in the fields below that are yellow. It enhances a softness to the light, below, on the fields. Excellent!
