Down the hills, 8 by 10 inches oil on canvas
I met this shepherdess during my trip to Jordon. For me, she looked absolutely free, no pressure to perform, no rat race, just starting everyday with her flock of sheep. But she probably had her woes, but inspired me to paint.
Exquisite color! the brilliant red robe with the jewel toned landscape.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful scene which you captured beautifully, Padmaja!
ReplyDeleteI love the sheep and wonderful texture in this painting..
This is poetry. So serene and peaceful. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThe contrast between the lovely greens and blues with the focus being on the red is really wonderful!! The richness of colour and texture makes this outstanding!!
ReplyDeleteThe narration about the care free red robed shepherdess brings at once to sharp focus the richness of the scene in blue and green colours.
ReplyDeleteIt is the way you made your marks with the paint that I love. Blending the color by eye instead of smooth paint is exciting to me. I love the texture first and the color second. Yes, the red is glorious next to the green.
ReplyDeleteThe raw beauty of nature and simple people that live there are truly inspiring! Lovely picture!
ReplyDeleteStunning colors and texture, Padmaja! I love this so much!
ReplyDeleteI can fully understand you got inspired by this scenary, such a beauty with all the luscious green and the shepherdess in red standing out in the picture , and the texture is awesome !
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful painting...
ReplyDeletethanks
That small touch of red makes the piece vibrate.
ReplyDeleteAll those greens and blues make this so very quiet and somber. I like how you used textures against long smooth strokes to divide the shapes in this.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful painting .. and so many colorss i loved the greeeen

The greens and blues give this painting such a calm feeling. And then the red robe stands out so well from the background.
ReplyDeleteThese trees are so well done. I feel the wind in them.
