Three is company, oil, 8 by 6 inches
Before our son moved away from home for his higher pursuit, we three (my
husband, our son and me) did a lot of road trips covering the length
and breadth of India and during one such trip to Srirangam in South India, we found
these three trees standing together and how instantly we related to
them! The memory is fresh and every minute of the painting session was
touching since I miss those golden days so much!
So apt, the three trees, the three elements of nature, the tree, the hill and the sky.
ReplyDeletei can understand your emotions dripping through this painting.
What a beautiful painting and memory.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting, wise words. These three trees are like three of you, looking forward.
ReplyDeleteEmotions flowing through your brush. Your palette is magical.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful harmony in this painting, dear friend. You raised your son correctly if he has gone to peruse his own path. I understand your mothers pain of loss.
ReplyDeleteRemember Kilbran beautiful words - Trees are the poems of the earth - We fell them down and turn them into paper That we may record our emptiness.
Gorgeous sunset and beautiful landscape together with your memories makes a this a real gem!!

Isn't it wonderful when a landscape can be appreciated not just for its beauty, and this is one is beautiful, but for the memories it brings to you from your time traveling with your husband and son. This is just lovely Padmaja!
ReplyDeleteI liked the simplicity in your painting...
ReplyDeleteAnd how you related those 3 trees to your little family...
I relate it to my own family too...
From a different angle. Cz I am the only child for my parents. And we three rock!
3 is also my favorite number, so is the warmth of a golden sky.
ReplyDeleteI too feel the emotions of which you speak through your painting and your memories, Padmaja. The piece below is so beautiful too!

Love the title and the sentiment that accompanies this painting. I think I would have known these things from just viewing this one, Padmaja. The three trees and the golden sky pass on something about strength in numbers. No stormy sky here! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to preserve your lovely memory - textured, colorful, soothing and perfectly crafted to capture your sentiments! Really, lovely, Padmaja!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post and I love the colors and texture in this painting, Padmaja!! Nice work as always!!
