I am used to so many colorful blooms in Bengaluru that when I am in
Muscat I keep searching for color and at once such instance I found
this red jewel midst the rather bushy dry vegetation. Such a wonder I
thought, no one watered it, none cared to stop and observe it, but it
held high in perfect uniqueness, fragrance intact and in complete
solitude even with the others that did not relate to it.
After finishing the painting today, as a coincidence I read this quote on Lolomente's blog, that seemed so apt for this painting."It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude." — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Aww! Thats so nice of you... What startles me is the thought process that has gone within our heads... They are so similar incidentally. Is that why they say, at the end of the day we all are just one!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting... And a brilliant bloom there... :)
Wow, Padmaja, this a beautiful painting. Only an artist's eye can locate such wonders.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful painting mam
ReplyDeleteBikram's
brilliant blooms, sage thoughts and a beautiful painting! You have captured the dry hot desert and jewel of a bloom :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors and landscape.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to Puttaparthi I marveled at how similar the terrain was to Mew Mexico. Here you have a cactus we call Ocotillo ...brilliant red blooms at the end of thin sticks of green. Shows how the world shares similarities of terrain and weather patterns.
A striking painting, the red beauty really jumps to the eye , and I love the thick texture !
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful composition, simple yet complex. That red flower was the perfect place for the eye to land. Love it, Padmaja! The quote? Superb!
ReplyDeleteNice photograph and I prefer solitude after the day's hectic chores.

ReplyDeleteAgree with Ralph Waldo.
Another beautiful painting. I love the red popping out of the desert. I always learn so much from your paintings and posts. Bengaluru to Muscat! I would love to see both those places. But since I probably won't get a chance, I'll visit via your blog.
ReplyDeleteI like the little green bushes dotting the landscape. This brings me all the way into the painting and then the red flowers bring me back. Thanks for the journey.

Beautiful quote to accompany this painting, Padmaja. Beautiful painting.
ReplyDeletePerfect quote for the painting. As much as its regally beautiful, deserts can be quite dreary too right, and these red ones pop out just like jewels!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful oil landscape painting. My friend from http://paperwriting.xyz/ said that it seems like you really have your own style in painting.
