The inspiration to do this painting was from my thoughts about an old
couple's journey together for 60 plus long years.Theirs was an arranged
marriage, very common in India, two random different people coming
together to spend the rest of their lives with each other.I have seen
their differences, their adaptations, their compromises in adversities,
the embracing of each others' families and so much more. I feel there is
a lot to learn from this kind of togetherness..

The new year for me started in a positive way with getting to spend
quality time with family visiting us after 2 long years and two of my
paintings getting sold at the
Art 100×100” exhibition at Bait Al Zubair Museum, that showcased
100 pieces of art by
Muscat-based artists for sale at 100 rials each ($250) with the intention to raise funds for the Oman
Cancer Association. This compassionate and creative effort was initiated by
Ibrahim Gailani. I am glad that I could be part of it.
