The Early Burst

An oil on canvas 16 by 20 inches. I saw this dramatic blaze in the sky during my morning walk near our home, the patterns of light were almost straight and parallel, the sky looked abstracted. I stopped walking and stood for a few minutes to enjoy..I did feel a kind of spiritual energy from this burst of light reinforcing the omnipresence of God , essential to keep my spirits boosted for the day! I have incorporated the light that I saw in to the  clear, almost cloudless sky at Quantab Beach.I finished the painting with oil and then used oil sticks( not pastels) to give some texture.Hope you enjoy:-)

  2. I have read that "to the dull mind nature is leaden. To the illumined mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light"It is through nature that God speaks to us.
You have captured the spirit of nature in all its splendour.

  6. The clean hard lines bring me upward, I am sure this was your intent. The oil sticks add softer highlights, makes for a wonderful balance.

  15. I like the idea of oil in a stick! That's not an oil pastel? It's something different? This is a beautiful piece. You captured the stillness and serenity of that walk so beautifully!
