Recently I had a great time traveling to Italy, we covered quite a lot
from Rome, Venice, Sienna to Florence and ended our trip with a
memorable spiritual experience at the Basilica of San Francesco at
Assisi in Perugia.I came back with a lot of pictures taken, hoping to
paint, but I do not know how much justice I am going to make!
One of my childhood desire was to enjoy a gondola ride and I never
hoped that I would hop in to one some day. Here is an attempt to paint
the view of the Basilica di Santa Maria Della Salute,(one of the most
significant and beautiful landmark in Venice), from the gondola ride
across the Grand Canal. I struggled to let go of details, that was the
hardest part for me with this painting. Enjoying the view was a moment
of joy and dream come true... the painting time itself was a sort of a
healer :-)
