"sun lit" Acrylic on canvas 10 by 12 inches
The reference for these paintings is from my friend Rama Ananth's Sedona trip. (Thank you Rama for permitting me to use them!), I have deviated a bit from them. I have been to Sedona myself and have enjoyed happy moments that I cherish for ever.I had a great time playing with the colors, as much as my visit to this beautiful place.Hope you enjoy them too!
When I was working on these , I received this quote in my mail that was sent by my friend KP, which I thought I would share here again.
"A happy life is just a string of happy moments. But most people don't allow the happy moment because they are so busy to get a happy life" Esther Hicks.
Oh my, Padmaja!! These are truly spectacularly glorious! The texture! The color! Amazingly beautiful. You have such an awesome talent.

Lately I have had color on my mind and these paintings so rich and lush, will help inspire me once I am back to painting. I think jewel tones in the sky of the 3rd piece are calling out happy moments to me.

ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about Sedona and how it's atmosphere and landscape is incredibly conducive for creative work. One can completely understand why after looking at your paintings - especially loved the third one:)The iridescent colors are breathtaking...
Padmaja your colors are dazzling and the paintings seem to glow. I loved the quote as well. So true! Now let's go paint something! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you read the landscape almost as if it is a mosaic work. Lovely colour and rhythm!
ReplyDeletePadmaja, I love the vibrant colors and the texture adds so much! You must love the desert as much as I do. Great quote!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't even know what to say about these beautiful paintings. (That never stopped me before!) I think your colors are as spectacular as those Arizona rock formations. And your use of color in the bottom painting made me think it was a tapestry. Wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous work. I'm in awe!
ReplyDeleteYou have the gift of recreating the magic of the spectacular natural formations in your own choice of vibrant colours.I haven't been to the place but browsed the net.You have brought alive the nature's beauty in all its splendour.
