Majesty, 8 by 10 inches , oil
One of the most favorite places I have traveled to is Sedona. It is on
my bucket list is to visit Sedona one more time this life time and paint
the gorgeous red rocks plein air. Too far fetched idea I guess, but I
have hope! Painting this from my album accentuated that hope.I am also looking forward to painting similar rock formations at our own Tirumala hills, I will, next time, keeping the religious agendas aside!
The rock painting at Tirumala is within your quick reach and can be done soon while the visit to Sedona can wait for an opportune time..
ReplyDeleteThe rock and the blue sky behind is very nice.
As usual the textures are amazing and the palette mesmerising. Looks like fantasy land. Would make any one want to go there.
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing rock formation, makes a wonderful subject!
ReplyDeleteSedona is one of my favorite places to visit in Arizona!! The color is absolutely unbelievable...you painted this perfectly Padmaja!! and the texture is wonderful....
ReplyDeleteI think it came out beautifully. I intend to visit Sedona too. It is much closer to me, but I have not been there for many years.
ReplyDeleteLove the rich texture and the perfect nuance of color for this place , so warm and deep.
ReplyDeleteAn absolute WOW!, Padmaja! You are a master of painting with texture and color!
ReplyDeleteIt's on my bucket list to visit also. Lovely painting Padmaja.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Padmaja. You just brought back all my memories of having traveled to Sedona. It is truly a magical place. I hope you get to return someday!
ReplyDeleteLove your colors and texture. Suits the experience of Sedona. I honeymooned there - gorgeous place.
ReplyDeleteHi Padmaja. I could have sworn I commented on this beautiful painting. I went to Sedona many years ago and your painting reminds me of my memories.

ReplyDeleteHello greetings and good wishes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting with attractive colors. Beautiful.
Best wishes
You've captured the majesty of this scene beautifully!! We all have dreams and where would we be without them, this is where the magic happens!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy every small piece of this painting and now I go to find our about trip to Sedona as much as I can. Thank you for the beauty and the idea.
ReplyDeleteTerra cotta rock formations have always brought me to a peaceful, spiritual place (in my mind), and I have never visited Sedona or any of the US Southwest, also on my bucket list. But I also think of Cezanne and the French countryside.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your beautiful rendition, reminds me of my many photographs from Sedona and grand canyon ! I feel intimidated by the beauty. I admire your courage to paint what you see and feel --I can see it in the texture and colors of your painting!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful place (and your painting too)
ReplyDeleteYou said it right..... keeping the religious agendas aside.
awesome!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt you are gifted with an attractive way of mixing hues.
